About

m4atomp3.fr was born out of a simple frustration: an iPhone voice memo that refused to play in the car, and "free converters" that demand an account, cap you at 3 files a day and upload your recordings to a server on the other side of the world.

How it works

The site embeds FFmpeg, the world reference for audio and video processing, compiled to WebAssembly. Your browser does all the work: the files are never transmitted. The code is deliberately kept simple, with no heavy dependencies.

Funding

The site is free and will stay that way. Hosting is funded by unobtrusive advertising and by donations from users who wish to contribute. We have no interest in seeing your files: we never receive them.

Who is behind it

An independent developer based in France. The full legal notice is here, and you can get in touch with any question, suggestion or report.
